Welcome to the Northland Arboretum!Arb building

We are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to getting the community involved in and aware of nature. We have a wide, beautiful area for you and your family to explore. Have a peaceful walk on our nature trails, or take your mountain bike for a ride. Winter time? We've got that covered too! You can cross country ski on our spectacular groomed snow covered trails.  Show shoe or winter hike on non-groomed trails, too.

Bring your old Christmas lights, cords, electrical cords to the Visitor Center for recycling all year long!

RECYCLING FOR RAPTORS

Bring your used ink jet cartridges to the Visitor Center for recycling!  Help the Raptor Center AND keep ink jet cartridges out of our landfills!

PLEASE REMEMBER:

THERE IS NO SMOKING ALLOWED ON ARBORETUM GROUNDS.  IF YOU MUST SMOKE - PLEASE DO SO IN YOUR VEHICLE.  DO NOT THROW BUTTS ON THE ARBORETUM GROUNDS!!!

KEEP DOGS LEASHED AT ALL TIMES.  THIS IS FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR PETS AS WE HAVE 540 ACRES OF WILDERNESS - AND WILD ANIMALS THAT LIVE HERE.

NO HUNTING IS ALLOWED AT ANY TIME ON ARBORETUM PROPERTY.

ARBORETUM HOURS

Visitors Center is open Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm (call 218-829-8770 to be sure we are open before coming out to the Visitor Center).

ARBORETUM WINTER TRAIL USE

Arboretum trails are open sunup to sundown every day of the year.  Parking  $3 - Arboretum Members are No Charge.  After hours payments can be made at the drop box at the trail head at the Visitor Center parking lot.

During the Summer:  Mowing, Gardening, Tree Trimming/Planting Trail Cleanup, Carpenters and Front Desk Help (both during the week and on weekends)

During the Winter:  Trail Cleanup, Front Desk Help both on the weekends and during the week)

Tell a friend about the Arboretum...

SUMMER: The hiking and biking trails are open sunrise to sunset every day during the spring, summer and fall.  Trail use is free for Arb members, or $3.00 adult/$1 child per day for non Northland Arboretum members.   After hours payments can be made in the drop box at the trail head at the Visitor center parking lot.

WINTER: PLEASE NOTE you MUST have a Minnesota Ski Pass to cross country ski on the Arboretum ski trails.  Minnesota Ski Day Passes only are avialable at the Arboretum Visitor Center for $6 each Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM.  The closest place to pick up your day, year or three year pass is Mills Fleet Farm.  Minnesota Ski Passes are available at any electronic licensing office. The cross country ski trails are open with the first groomable snow.  Please check the www.skinnyski.com website (Brainerd Nordic Ski Club puts ski trail conditions here).  Parking fee of $3 is asked from all non-members.
